This is a beautiful poem by Vairamuthu on the importance of "Laughter" in life!

Life remains ever locked;
Every time, the sound of laughter is heard,
It opens up!

Laughter is scented oil,

Sprinkled on life by nature!

Laughter is a universal language,
Which any pair of lips knows to speak!

The duties of lips are six--

Laughing, kissing, eating, sucking, speaking and singing!

If lips cannot laugh, what difference does it make
If it can or cannot perform the later five?

Isn’t laughter a miraculous gift,
that is neither a loss to the giver nor the receiver?

Misery leaves through the lips
That open to laugh.

Every time one laughs,

The heart is cleansed of its dust.

The spilling tear drops, don’t feel salty,
When they are shed, laughing!

சிரிப்பு 

வாழ்க்கை பூட்டியே கிடக்கிறது
சிரிப்புச் சத்தம் கேட்கும்போதெல்லாம்
அது திறந்து கொள்கிறது

வாழ்வின்மீது இயற்கைத் தெளித்த
வாசனைத் தைலம் சிரிப்பு


எந்த உதடும் பேசத் தெரிந்த
சர்வதேச மொழி சிரிப்பு


உதடுகளின் தொழில்கள் ஆறு
சிரித்தல் முத்தமிடல்
உண்ணல் உறிஞ்சல்
உச்சரித்தல் இசைத்தல்


சிரிக்காத உதட்டுக்குப்
பிற்சொன்ன ஐந்தும்
இருந்தென்ன? தொலைந்தென்ன?


தருவோன் பெறுவோன்
இருவர்க்கும் இழப்பில்லாத
அதிசய தானம்தானே சிரிப்பு


சிரிக்கத் திறக்கும் உதடுகள் வழியே
துன்பம் வெளியேறிவிடுகிறது


ஒவ்வொருமுறை சிரிக்கும்போதும்
இருதயம் ஒட்டடையடிக்கப்படுகிறது


சிரித்துச் சிந்தும் கண்ணீரில்
உப்புச் சுவை தெரிவதில்லை
